COBRA: UP DOG

UP DOG: From Crocodile, flip the toes so you are on the tops of your feet. Push through the base of your palms and lift the body, extending the spine into Up Dog. In Up Dog, only the tops of your feet and the hands are touching the floor. Be mindful to feel the extension of your spine, but not a hyperextension of your neck.

COBRA: From Crocodile, keep the arms straight and the weight on your palms. Lower your hips to the mat. Reach forward with your heart center and draw your shoulders back and down. Reach back through your toes to find even more extension through the spine.

Pose Benefits
Up Dog: Opens hip flexors, lengthens the spine
Cobra: Creates length

Modifications
Perform yoga pushups and eliminate these backbends if you experience pain anywhere in the low
back, neck or shoulders
Perform Cat—Cow at this phase to open the spine and create length
